SaaS & Technology Attorney — U.S./California Pre-Launch Legal & Compliance Review

Seeking an experienced U.S.-licensed SaaS and technology attorney to conduct a comprehensive pre-launch legal and compliance review for a California-based SaaS company.

Our platform provides online booking and business-management software for appointment-based service businesses. We are preparing for U.S. launch and need an attorney to ensure that our legal documents, website disclosures, subscription practices, privacy practices, and customer-facing product flows are appropriately structured and consistent.

Scope of Work
Review, revise, draft, or recommend as appropriate:
* Terms of Service / Terms of Use
* Privacy Policy
* Subscription and billing terms
* Free-trial enrollment and conversion to paid subscriptions
* Automatic-renewal disclosures and requirements
* Cancellation processes and disclosures
* Refund and payment-related policies
* Referral and promotional program terms
* U.S. and California privacy requirements applicable to the business
* Cookie/tracking disclosures and consent requirements
* Email and SMS consent, including transactional and marketing communications
* Customer data collection, use, retention, and deletion practices
* Third-party processors/service-provider disclosures and contractual considerations
* Intellectual property ownership and protections
* Independent contractor IP/confidentiality considerations
* Disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and other SaaS risk provisions
* Acceptable Use Policy and Data Processing Agreement, if appropriate
* Any additional agreements, policies, notices, or disclosures reasonably necessary for launch

Product & Website Compliance Review

We want more than a template-based document review.

The attorney should review relevant customer-facing product and website flows and identify changes needed to align the product with applicable legal requirements and the company’s legal documents.

Relevant areas may include:
* Account registration
* Free-trial enrollment
* Pricing presentation
* Subscription checkout
* Automatic renewal
* Cancellation
* Payment and refund disclosures
* Referral program
* Email/SMS consent
* Cookie/privacy notices
* Account termination and deletion
* Public website and marketing disclosures

We want specific, practical recommendations when wording, disclosures, consent mechanisms, checkout flows, or other product elements should be changed.

Deliverables
At completion, we would like:
1. Revised or drafted legal documents that are ready for implementation
2. Identification of any missing policies, agreements, notices, or disclosures
3. Specific recommendations for required or advisable product/website changes
4. A prioritized pre-launch legal and compliance checklist
5. Identification of material legal risks that should be addressed before launch
6. Clear distinction between items that are legally required, recommended best practices, and optional protections

Preferred Qualifications
* Licensed U.S. attorney in good standing
* Experience representing SaaS and technology companies
* Strong knowledge of California requirements affecting online businesses
* Experience with subscription billing, free trials, automatic renewals, and online cancellation
* Experience with privacy and data-protection matters
* Familiarity with email/SMS consent and online marketing requirements
* Experience with SaaS contracts, payments, intellectual property, and third-party service providers
* Ability to review actual product flows rather than only supplying legal templates

Experience specifically advising early-stage or pre-launch SaaS companies is strongly preferred.
