Responsive Admin Chat Dashboard

I’m upgrading my admin panel with a web-based chat dashboard that feels fast on any screen size. The single must-have feature is true real-time messaging—think Socket.IO, WebSockets or a similarly reliable solution—so messages appear instantly without refreshes.

Two access levels will exist from day one: Admin and Moderator. Each role should see only the controls intended for it (for example, Admin can clear rooms or ban, Moderator can mute). No other roles are required right now, but I’ll leave the door open for expansion later.

You can work in the stack you are most efficient with—React + Node, Vue + Laravel, plain HTML/JS with a lightweight backend, etc.—as long as it outputs a responsive web interface that drops neatly into my existing admin template. If you choose a framework, please keep dependencies lean and avoid anything that would tie me to a particular proprietary service.

Deliverables
• Responsive chat UI integrated into my current admin layout
• Real-time messaging backend (self-hosted)
• Role-based permission logic for Admin and Moderator
• Basic persistence so chat history survives a page reload
• Clear, commented source code and a short setup guide

Acceptance will be based on cross-browser tests (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) at both desktop and mobile breakpoints and sub-second message delivery in a local network environment.
