We are seeking an Alberta-licensed residential structural engineer for ongoing work related primarily to sunrooms, decks, and small residential additions.

To be clear, we are primarily looking for an engineer to review completed permit drawings/calculations and provide the required professional authentication/stamp for permit submission. We are not looking to outsource the full drafting or permit-management process.

Typical engineering requirements may include:

Review and stamping of permit drawings
Deck certification/structural review
Screw pile engineering
Structural review for sunrooms and home additions
Beam, header, post, connection, and foundation review where required
Other project-specific structural engineering requested by the municipality
Confirmation that the proposed design complies with applicable Alberta building-code requirements

Requirements:

Registered and in good standing with APEGA
Experience with residential additions, decks, sunrooms, and similar structures
Familiarity with Alberta municipal permitting requirements
Ability to provide clear markups or required revisions when something cannot be stamped as submitted
Reliable turnaround times and communication

This would be ongoing work, and we are looking to establish a relationship with an engineer who can review and authenticate multiple projects as our permit-services department grows.

Please include your typical pricing for drawing review/stamping, deck certifications, screw pile engineering, and other residential structural reviews, along with expected turnaround times and examples of relevant previous work.
