Python ATS Resume Builder Development

I’m planning a lightweight resume-builder written entirely in Python with SQLite as the data store. The core objective is to let users on macOS craft an ATS-friendly résumé through a clean, intuitive interface—speed and clarity are more important than flashy visuals.

Functionally, the app should let a user enter personal details, work history, education, skills, projects and certifications, store everything in SQLite, pick from a small set of professional templates and finally export the finished résumé to DOCX. Solid keyboard navigation, sensible defaults and straightforward validation should make the flow painless for non-technical users.

I expect well-structured, commented code so future tweaks—extra fields, additional templates or an eventual PDF module—are easy. Feel free to use Tkinter, PySimpleGUI, PyQt or a minimal Flask front-end; whichever delivers an uncluttered experience on macOS without heavy dependencies.

Deliverables
• Full Python source with clear module separation
• SQLite schema and sample seed data
• At least two clean DOCX templates styled for ATS parsing
• Packaged macOS application (or build script) and concise setup guide
• README covering architecture, key libraries (e.g., python-docx), and instructions for extending the template set

I’ll test by entering sample data, exporting to DOCX, opening the file in Word and running it through a common ATS parsing tool. If everything imports accurately and the UI feels frictionless, we’re done.
