Professional Services Operations Director Needed - UK BASED APPLICANTS ONLY

Key Responsibilities
Delivery Governance
• Own project delivery reviews
• Run project health checks and escalation reviews
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to scope
Profitability & Estimation
• Improve estimation accuracy
• Establish project margin targets
• Review change requests and commercial controls
• Track actual vs estimated effort
Resource Management
• Manage consultant utilisation
• Capacity planning and forecasting
• Balance workloads across projects
• Identify recruitment requirements
Reporting & KPIs
• Build delivery dashboard and management reporting
• Track utilisation, project profitability, billable days, customer satisfaction and backlog
• Provide monthly operational review to leadership
People Leadership
• Coach and develop consultants
• Support recruitment, interviewing and onboarding
• Establish career progression and skills development plans
Operational Independence
• Act as the day-to-day owner of services delivery
• Reduce operational involvement required from Chris
• Escalate only major commercial, customer or staffing issues
Profile Required
Ideally someone who has:
• Led a Professional Services team of 10-50 consultants
• Experience in software implementation, ERP, EPM, FP&A or Business Applications consulting
• Strong utilisation and services P&L management experience
• Built PMO, delivery governance and KPI frameworks
• Comfortable operating in an SME environment
Their initial mission should be to:
1. Establish KPIs and reporting.
2. Improve utilisation and forecasting.
3. Standardise project estimation and reviews.
4. Create enough operational maturity that Chris can step back significantly from delivery management.
