I need a small web app that lets me drag-and-drop a customer purchase order—usually a PDF, sometimes a scanned image—and immediately spins up a live tracker for that order. The moment the file lands, the system must read three specific data groups:
• PO number and PO date
• Every line-item with quantity and rate
• Applicable GST and the validity period
Once captured, the order should flow through the following milestones: PO Received → PO Verified → Price/Qty Approved → Production → QC → Ready for Dispatch → Dispatched → Invoice Generated → Payment Pending → Payment Received → Closed. At any point I need to open the tracker and see where each PO sits, along with the raw data that was extracted.
Core expectations
• Accurate OCR/data-extraction for both clean PDFs and photographed documents
• A simple browser interface to upload, view, and filter orders by status
• Secure storage (SQL or NoSQL—your call) with an audit trail of status changes
• Ability to add or reorder workflow stages later without code overhauls
• Clean codebase (Python-Flask, Node, or similar) plus brief setup docs so my team can host it in-house
Nice-to-have, but not mandatory: automated email or SMS nudges when a stage changes; dashboard widgets summarising totals in each phase.
Deliverables
1. Source code and database schema
2. One live demo running on your test server
3. Quick user guide (PDF) and a five-minute walkthrough video
I’m aiming for a lean first version, so propose the stack you’re fastest with and outline any third-party APIs you’d rely on for OCR.
