My injection-molded plastic part—with two small metal inserts—has already been proven through a working prototype and the design is fully locked. I do not have any drawings. Now I want to move straight into creating a mold along with production and I’d like to base the operation with a reliable overseas factory.

Your role is to take the product from “ready for production” to the first pallet on the water. You will need to reverse engineer this part. You help me refine for manufacturability where needed, locate and vet suitable molders, coordinate tooling, inserts, over-moulding or post-assembly, set up quality control and organize logistics.

Key deliverables
• Three or more vetted factory quotations, each detailing tooling cost, piece-part pricing at several volume tiers and lead times
• DFM feedback incorporated into updated CAD and a short report outlining any trade-offs made
• Pre-production T1 samples shipped to me, accompanied by dimensional and cosmetic inspection data
• A concise production plan that covers tooling kick-off, pilot run, QC checkpoints, packaging and shipping arrangements

Acceptance criteria
• Factory contacts are verifiable and willing to communicate directly
• Quoted costs and timelines are realistic and match the plan you provide
• T1 samples match the approved CAD within tolerance and include the metal inserts securely integrated

Timeline is flexible but I’d like to place the tooling order as soon as we lock a supplier.
