My production-critical Oracle 12c and 19c environments run on Linux and serve a mixed workload of transactional and analytical traffic. I need a seasoned DBA who can take full ownership of the database layer — from fresh installs through day-to-day performance tuning and long-term capacity planning.

You’ll be expected to:
• Stand up and configure new Oracle instances, then harden them with the right users, roles, and privileges
• Monitor health, resource usage, and tablespace growth, reacting proactively before an alert becomes an incident
• Tune SQL: review execution plans, create or adjust indexes, and rewrite queries where profiling shows clear wins
• Manage the entire RMAN lifecycle: scheduled backups, validation, point-in-time recovery testing, and real restorations when needed
• Investigate and resolve production slowdowns, lock contention, or any performance anomaly, delivering clear post-mortems
• Apply quarterly patches, lead version upgrades, and support migrations with zero-or-minimal downtime strategies
• Configure and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard whenever high-availability or DR cut-over is required
• Keep concise technical documentation and a short weekly status report so everyone understands current health and upcoming risks
We lean on standard Oracle toolsets—RMAN, AWR, OEM, Data Guard Broker—and appreciate Bash scripting or Ansible playbooks to automate repetitive work.
Success is measured by stable uptime, consistently fast queries, documented procedures, and no-surprise recoveries. If you thrive in hands-on database stewardship and can communicate findings clearly, I’d like to hear how you’d approach taking the reins here.
