Optimize Milestone Scheduling in MS Project
Budget / SalaryHourly project
TypeFreelance project

The assignment centres on refining a live Microsoft Project (.mpp) plan so its milestone-driven schedule reads cleanly, flows logically and communicates progress at a glance. Task scheduling is the top priority, with every activity rolling up neatly to clearly defined milestone tasks.
The current file already holds dates and resources, yet many links, lags and calendars need a second look. By tightening dependencies and levelling resources, the critical path should emerge naturally and expose any risk to delivery dates.
Deliverables
• Updated .mpp file: all milestone tasks correctly linked, resourced and free of circular or open ends
• Exported Gantt chart (PDF and PNG) showing the revised timeline in a board-ready layout
• Burn-down chart illustrating planned versus remaining work for the full project duration
• Brief change log outlining key scheduling decisions and any assumptions made
Acceptance will be based on: matching milestone dates to logical predecessors, zero constraint violations, and charts that open without formatting errors on a standard MS Project 2019 installation.
