I’m maintaining a live Android application that serves both smartphones and tablets, and I need part-time help keeping it in top shape. Your main focus will be twofold: first, diagnose and eliminate the bugs users surface through Firebase crash logs; second, build out the new features on my product roadmap so the app keeps evolving.

The codebase is Kotlin-first (some legacy Java remains) and network traffic flows through Retrofit, so solid Retrofit experience is a must. We’re on Android Studio Flamingo, minSdk 24, using an MVVM architecture with ViewModel and LiveData/Flow—if you have ideas to improve performance or structure, I’m happy to hear them as long as they fit smoothly into what’s already there.

Each week you’ll pick up tickets from Jira, push well-documented commits to our private Git repo, and open small pull requests that pass the CI pipeline. Typical work ranges from patching a crash to extending a Retrofit interface for a new endpoint, then wiring up the UI so it looks great on both phone and tablet layouts. After your code merges, a short release note summarizing changes completes the cycle.

Deliverables
• Merged pull requests that compile cleanly and pass automated tests
• Brief release notes for each completed ticket

Please include one or two examples that highlight your Retrofit work and let me know roughly how many hours you can commit per week.
