On-Ground Education Outreach Representative – Schools & Junior Colleges

GradNextSteps is an education technology company building tools that help students make better education and career decisions.

We have developed Aptitude Compass, a free online aptitude and career-discovery assessment that helps students understand their strengths and explore possible career directions.

We are now looking for on-ground outreach representatives in India who can visit schools and junior colleges, speak with the appropriate decision-makers and help us run small pilot programmes with students.

What you will actually do

Your primary responsibility is to approach schools and junior colleges and introduce the Aptitude Compass programme to:

Principals
Vice Principals
Career Counsellors
Student/Career Coordinators
Teachers or administrators responsible for student development

The objective is not to sell a paid product immediately.

We want to offer the institution and its students a free pilot.

A successful pilot would typically involve:

A short 15–30 minute introduction for students
A cohort of at least 10–15 genuine students participating
Students accessing the free Aptitude Compass assessment
The institution allowing us to collect general feedback about the experience
An opportunity to understand whether the school/college would be interested in doing more with GradNextSteps

The institution and students will not be charged for the pilot.

Your responsibilities
Identify suitable schools and junior colleges in your assigned area
Visit or contact institutions and identify the appropriate decision-maker
Introduce GradNextSteps and Aptitude Compass clearly and professionally
Explain how the free student pilot works
Secure permission for a pilot session
Coordinate the session with the institution
Help ensure that a genuine group of students participates
Follow up with the institution after the session
Maintain a simple outreach tracker with institution, contact person, outcome and next steps
Collect basic feedback from the institution and students

You may also conduct the student introduction yourself using our presentation and talking points, depending on your experience.

Important

We are not looking for student databases, scraped contact lists or generic lead generation.

Students should participate through an approved school or college programme.

You will not be expected to independently recruit students or collect private student contact information.

Our goal is to build genuine relationships with educational institutions and understand whether Aptitude Compass provides real value to students.

Who we are looking for

You would be a good fit if you have experience in:

School or college outreach
EdTech
Education sales or business development
Career counselling
Student programmes
Field sales
Academic or institutional partnerships

You should be comfortable speaking directly with principals, teachers and education professionals and representing an early-stage technology company professionally.

Previous experience visiting schools or colleges is strongly preferred.

For local outreach, knowledge of the regional language is an advantage.

Presentation material
Information about Aptitude Compass
Suggested outreach messaging
A simple reporting format
Guidance on how the student pilot should be conducted

You do not need to create the product or develop your own presentation.

How we will measure success

We are initially interested in quality rather than just the number of contacts.

We will look at:

Institutions approached → decision-makers reached → meetings/conversations → pilot sessions arranged → students participating → feedback and follow-up interest

We are looking for people who can genuinely open doors at educational institutions, not simply provide a list of phone numbers.

Initial engagement

This will begin as a pilot engagement. Strong performers may be given additional institutions/areas and a larger ongoing role as we expand.
