Omegle-Style Random Matching Platform

I’m building a web platform that recreates Omegle’s “talk to a stranger” experience, but with modern polish and mandatory user accounts. The core requirement is a fast, reliable random-matching engine: as soon as a logged-in user clicks “Start,” the system should pair them with another available user and open a private chat room. When either party disconnects, both are returned to the lobby and can start again instantly.

Account flow
• Email/password registration, secure login and logout
• Password-reset or “forgot password” path
• Basic e-mail verification to keep out bots

In-chat experience
• Clean, responsive chat interface (text by default; we can discuss adding video/WebRTC later)
• Active session timer and “Next” button
• Language preference filter so users can choose whom they are matched with

Safety & moderation
• One-click user reporting from inside the chat window
• Server-side flagging system that stores chat session data tied to the reported user ID for review
• Simple admin dashboard to view reports and suspend or delete accounts

User profile
• Minimal public profile (avatar, short bio, language list) editable after sign-up
• Private settings page for password change and notification control
