The better model: Audience Acquisition
Have the contractor identify 20–30 high-value LinkedIn accounts every day whose audiences overlap with yours: leadership creators, CROs/VP Sales, executive coaches, management thinkers, HR/talent leaders, and executives posting about leadership.
Then have them prepare a daily engagement queue for you:
POST → WHY IT MATTERS → SUGGESTED COMMENT
You spend 10–15 minutes posting the comments yourself. The contractor does 90% of the research; your voice remains authentic.
The objective is simple:
Their audience sees your comment → your point of view creates curiosity → they visit your profile → your profile converts them → they follow.
And I'd pair that with a much stronger profile conversion mechanism.
Your headline/banner/about section should immediately tell a profile visitor:
I help leaders confront the problems they already know they're avoiding.
Leadership • Coaching • Accountability
Follow for practical leadership ideas every day.
Then your featured section should immediately expose them to your best ideas—Truth Series, Ancient Wisdom, Empty Chair, 1:1s, etc.
I would actually give the contractor 3 jobs
1. Audience mapping: Build a database of 500–1,000 people whose audiences contain the people you want following you.
2. Daily opportunity discovery: Find 10–20 posts every morning where you can add a genuinely valuable leadership perspective. Not "Great post!" comments—mini-post-quality comments.
3. Content intelligence: Track which leadership topics, hooks, formats and conversations are getting disproportionate engagement among your target audience and feed those insights back into your content calendar.
The flywheel I'd want is:
Great content → strategic comments → profile visits → followers → engagement → greater distribution → more followers
rather than:
Cold connection → accepted → technically a follower → never sees your content
Those produce very different audiences.
One number I'd target
I'd give them a goal like:
Create enough qualified distribution opportunities to generate 1,000 target-audience followers in 90 days.
Then we'd measure net-new followers, follower job titles/seniority, profile views, follower conversion from profile views, content impressions, and engagement from non-followers.
That would tell us whether we're actually building your leadership audience rather than simply inflating a number.
