I need a seasoned Java developer to turn a set of Excel-based data assets into a fully-functioning web application, plus a light desktop utility that handles database management tasks behind the scenes.

Here is the flow I have in mind:

• Extract and clean the data currently stored in several spreadsheets (I’ll provide the .xlsx files).
• Design an intuitive, professional interface for the web front end; Figma or a similar tool is fine as long as the final look is modern and responsive.
• Build the core web application in Java. I’m comfortable with Spring Boot, Jakarta EE, or plain Servlets—use whichever stack lets you move fastest while keeping the code clean and well documented.
• Create a companion desktop module (also in Java) focused solely on database administration—seeding initial records, updating reference tables, and simple backup/restore options.
• Wire both clients to the same relational database, with sensible schema design and secure connection handling.

Acceptance criteria
– Cleaned Excel data imports without manual intervention.
– Source code that compiles out of the box and runs locally (with instructions).
– Web UI matches approved mock-ups and works on desktop and mobile viewports.
– Desktop tool performs the agreed database management operations reliably.

If you’ve built similar Java web/desktop hybrids before, or have strong Excel-to-database migration experience, let’s talk through your approach and a realistic timeline.
