I am developing a luxury piece of jewellery that hides an ingenious, manually-operated rotary feature at its core. The heart of the brief is innovation: the mechanism must feel fresh, refined and effortlessly smooth while remaining discreet, light and comfortable to wear.

The concept
• A compact bearing-supported assembly allows part of the ornament to rotate by hand—think a single, satisfying twist rather than continuous spinning.
• Visual elegance is critical; every visible element must read as high-end jewellery first and precision engineering second.
• Weight must stay low enough for day-long wear without sacrificing strength or the premium feel expected in gold, platinum or silver.

Your mission
Translate this idea into a fully engineered solution ready for boutique-level production. That includes detailed CAD modelling (SolidWorks, Rhino, MatrixGold or similar), tolerance-controlled drawings, material and finishing recommendations, and an assembly sequence that jewellers can replicate in small batches. The bearing selection, retention method and any detent or stop you propose should be serviceable with standard jewellery tools.

Deliverables
1. 3D CAD assembly with all components separated into precious-metal parts and off-the-shelf hardware.
2. Manufacturing drawings with tolerances, surface-finish notes and gemstone seat call-outs if required.
3. Bill of materials specifying alloys, bearings and any micro-fasteners.
4. Brief assembly guide and maintenance notes.

Acceptance criteria
• Manual rotation is smooth, silent and free of wobble.
• No adhesives in the load path—mechanical retention only.

I will share aesthetic sketches and weight targets once the project starts. Feel free to propose clever ways to miniaturise the mechanism or disguise the bearing races; creativity is valued as highly as precision.
