YouTube Video Editing Brief – KYS Fishing & Adventures

I’m looking for an editor to turn my fishing trip footage into an entertaining, action-packed YouTube video.

The story:
What started as a good fishing trip quickly went wrong when we got stuck up a tidal creek. We ended up having to run and swim back to beat a fast-rushing tide, and things got pretty scary at times. It’s a real adventure with a mix of fishing, laughs, chaos and a few genuinely intense moments.

What I’m looking for:

• A strong hook at the start to grab viewers’ attention.
• Good storytelling that builds suspense as things start going wrong.
• A mix of funny moments, genuine reactions and intense scenes.
• Music, sound effects and cinematic edits where they suit the footage.
• Incorporate GoPro and drone footage where it fits.
• Keep the pacing engaging without over-editing it.
• A solid ending that wraps up the adventure and leaves viewers wanting more.

Extra details:
I’m happy to record and send through voiceovers if needed. I can also film an introduction explaining how the trip started off well before everything went wrong, or record an outro to help finish the story properly. I’m open to suggestions on what would work best.

Overall vibe: Raw, authentic fishing and adventure content with humour, suspense and real moments. I want viewers to feel like they’re along for the trip and keep watching to see how it all unfolds.

The channel is KYS Fishing & Adventures, and I’m looking to build a consistent style for future videos as well.
