Hotel Wi-Fi AAA & Portal

I’m putting together a full, cloud-based AAA/RADIUS and Captive Portal package for a hotel group that wants to elevate the guest Wi-Fi experience. The end result must let a guest unlock internet access automatically through their room record while still giving us the marketing and operational tools we need.

Core objectives
• A friction-less, room-based login flow that pulls credentials in real time from the Property Management System (PMS) via API.
• Cloud AAA/RADIUS handling both authentication and accounting, with VLAN or bandwidth profiles assigned per room or guest type.
• A Captive Portal that supports custom branding, social-media login, and rich data collection/analytics, all tied back to the AAA engine.

Scope of work
1. Solution design: choose the cloud platform, size the RADIUS cluster, map VLANs and SSIDs, outline the PMS middleware, and document every flow.
2. Build & configure: stand up the cloud AAA/RADIUS instance, deploy the branded portal pages, connect the PMS API, and integrate with the existing access points.
3. Testing & validation: simulate guest check-in/out, stress-test concurrent sessions, verify accounting records, and ensure the portal behaves on all major devices.
4. Deployment & cut-over: migrate live traffic, monitor for issues, fine-tune policies, and hand over full documentation.
5. Support & training: provide post-launch support plus administrator training so in-house staff can manage policies and view analytics.

Deliverables
• Detailed solution and network diagram (PDF & Visio)
• Live cloud AAA/RADIUS environment with administrator access
• Branded Captive Portal templates and CSS/asset bundle
• PMS integration module (source or compiled, with API docs)
• Final test plan with pass/fail results
• Knowledge-transfer session recording and quick-start guide

Acceptance criteria
• A guest can connect, enter either surname/room or a social account, and receive the correct speed plan within 3 seconds.
• RADIUS accounting records correctly hit our billing database for 100% of sessions during a 48-hour soak test.
• Portal and PMS sync survive a simulated PMS outage and recover automatically.
