Job Description:
We are an established California inspection firm seeking a detail-oriented, reliable Report Builder to assemble technical Exterior Elevated Elements (E3) inspection reports.
You will receive raw field inspection data (property field photos, Google Sheets data, and reference image libraries) and will build polished, ready-to-deliver reports inside HomeGauge.
We operate two distinct report workflows, each with its own template, rules, and expectations:
1. E3 FIRST (Feasibility Studies): A damage-only workflow documenting observed physical defects (cracked walking surfaces, dry rot, termite damage, concealed moisture intrusion) and contractor repair recommendations.
2. E3 FINAL (SB 721 Statutory Balcony Compliance): A standardized compliance workflow certifying safe conditions under California Health & Safety Code Section 17973, utilizing multi-method non-destructive testing photo libraries and strict header/caption formatting.
What We Provide:
- HomeGauge Software & Templates: Pre-configured master templates.
- Google Sheets Data Source: Standardized data source on the MAIN tab with property specs, measurements, and variable details.
- Organized Photo Libraries: Field photo folders and our reference photo library.
- Annotated Sample Reports & Checklists: Visual examples showing exactly where every photo, label, and text block belongs.
Important Policy on AI Tool Usage:
AI Usage Boundary:
You MAY use AI tools or scripts to assist you in compiling, formatting, organizing, or checking data from the MAIN spreadsheet tab.
You CANNOT use AI to generate, invent, or place synthetic data or hallucinated defects within the report. Every measurement, photo, rating, and defect must be 100% faithful to the raw inspection field files provided.
(Faster Workflow Override: If you have a faster, more automated method to assemble these reports while strictly adhering to our formatting and data accuracy rules, you are welcome to use it!)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Exceptional attention to detail: formatting, text alignment, caption schema accuracy, and correct photo correlation.
- Basic image handling skills: cropping Mapbox/Google Maps aerial screenshots and drawing clean red outline boxes.
- Ability to read and extract data accurately from Google Sheets and Drive.
- Fast turnaround, high reliability, and strong written English skills.
