Historical Fiction Sample Chapters Creation

I need two sample chapters that showcase the book’s historical-fiction voice and narrative style. I will share my plot outline, main character sketches, and the exact historical period once we start; your task is to turn that material into approximately 2000 words per chapter that feel immersive, era-appropriate, and engaging from the first line.

Because these chapters will act as a stylistic litmus test, I’m looking for:

• Consistent, authentic period detail woven naturally into the prose
• Distinct narrative voice that matches the rest of the manuscript’s tone
• Clean, publication-ready copy delivered in DOCX

NOTE: The freelancer must first and foremost match to the best of their ability the samples of the existing work already provided so the two voices (original writer and freelancer) are as identical as possible. This is crucial as it is part of an already existing series. It is not expected for them to be able to do this perfectly, but it must be obvious effort has been made in this direction. If the freelancer delivers two samples that show no attempt at this, irrespective of any other aspect of the writing, they will forfeit payment for those samples. This has been agreed by the freelancer in advance.
