Leica BLK360 / E57 – Floor Plans and Sections from Point Cloud
We are looking for an experienced point-cloud specialist to assist with the processing of a Leica BLK360 G2 scan of a historic building in Austria.
The building has approximately 1,200 m² and consists of:
small basement with approx. 10 rooms/chambers and several stair connections
ground floor with approx. 20 rooms
1st floor with approx. 25 rooms
2nd floor with approx. 25 rooms
3rd floor with approx. 25 rooms
The building is historic, irregular and geometrically complex, with many small and interconnected rooms.
Available Data
The building will be scanned with a Leica BLK360 G2.
We expect to provide a registered E57 point cloud, possibly also separate E57 files for each floor.
Required Work
We do not need a BIM model and we do not need the complete building redrawn in CAD.
We mainly need assistance with extracting accurate 2D information from the point cloud:
horizontal floor-plan sections for each level
several vertical building sections
possibly façade elevations
orthographic point-cloud views where useful
export of the results as DXF and PDF
The DXF files will be imported into an old version of Nemetschek Allplan 2009, so compatibility with an older DXF format such as AutoCAD 2000 / 2004 / 2007 DXF would be preferred.
Important: Live Screen-Sharing Session
We would strongly prefer to work together via video call and screen sharing.
The ideal workflow would be:
You open the E57 point cloud in Leica Cyclone, PointCab, CloudCompare, ReCap or similar software.
We review the building together via screen sharing.
We tell you exactly where the required floor-plan and vertical sections should be positioned.
You adjust the section plane live while we review it.
Once the section is correct, you export it as DXF/PDF.
This is important because the building is historic and irregular, and the correct section positions are easier to define together visually than by written instructions.

Initial Test
We would like to start with a small paid test of approximately 1 hour.
For the test, we will provide part of the point cloud or one floor.
The goal is to:
confirm that you can open the Leica E57 correctly
create one horizontal floor-plan section
create one vertical section
export a DXF that can be opened correctly in Nemetschek Allplan 2009
If the test works well, we would continue with the complete building.
