Gritty Action-Horror Poster Redesign

My action-horror-thriller feature film is entering the fundraising phase and I need concept art to sell its tone and themes. The film is set in a scenic forest which contrasts the horror aspects. I already have a poster layout that works—a modern male camper crucified against a scenic upstate New York forest with a cult-leader face brooding in the sky—but the existing piece looks too much like a comic book. I want the exact same pose, layout, and main imagery translated into movie-poster realism. The scene is set at sunset, and I favor orange hues. This will only be used for fundraising and early promotional purposes and will not be used as final release material. I will consider alternative suggestions.
Essentials to keep
• Camper crucified in the forest, struggling against the cross
• Charles-Manson-like figure super-imposed in the clouds—some recognizable traits, yet clearly fictional
• Clear space for the film logo at the top and a credit block at the bottom
Required look and execution
• Photo-realistic textures, cinematic lighting—no AI in any stage
• All photography or stock you provide must be fully licensable for worldwide festival use.
Deliverables
• Print-ready CMYK PDF at 8.5" × 11" (safe crop to 8" × 10"), 300 dpi
• Layered PSD (or TIFF) with editable type layers for the logo and billing block
Additional jpeg, PNG and PDF files
• One round of refinement after first proof, then final polish
Timeline is flexible, but a first draft within two weeks keeps us on track. Once we agree, I’ll send the original poster, mood references, and any additional stills you might need. When the new artwork captures that visceral grindhouse energy while honoring the composition I love, we’re done.
Payment
- Low, I'm an indie filmmaker. $250 is ideal.
