I have a raw list of about 10,000 phone numbers that needs to live in a single “Master” tab inside Google Sheets. From there, every time I type a note in the Call Notes column, that row must instantly surface in one of three working tabs:
• Reattempt – when the note contains “did not answer”
• Alternate Method – when the note contains “did not want our services”
• Follow-Up – when the note contains “interested”
The logic has to be dynamic because notes will be entered manually, row by row, as the calling team works. I don’t want to copy-paste or run a filter each time; the sheet should recognise the text string and show the record in the correct tab automatically while always preserving the full record in Master.
I’m open to the cleanest approach—array formulas, FILTER/QUERY, REGEX, or a light Apps Script, whichever keeps the file fast and easy for non-technical colleagues to maintain. If additional statuses appear later I should be able to edit the logic myself without rewriting the whole thing.
Deliverables
1. Google Sheets file (or template) with:
– Master tab pre-loaded with the 10k numbers and heading structure
– Three child tabs wired to the rules above and auto-updating
2. Clearly commented formulas or script so I can tweak terms or add extra statuses later
3. One-page setup/use guide or short screen-recording showing how it all works and how to extend it
Acceptance criteria: typing the exact strings above in the Call Notes field instantly routes the row to the correct tab, with no manual refresh required, and deleting or editing the note updates the routing accordingly.
That’s the entire scope—looking forward to your best, simplest solution.
