I am looking for an experienced full-stack developer to build a simple, modern and mobile-friendly classified marketplace.
The platform will allow individuals and businesses to list new or preloved items for sale. Buyers can purchase items in three ways:
1. Fixed Cash Price – Seller sets a price and buyer purchases.
2. Make an Offer – Buyer submits an offer; seller can accept, reject or counter.
3. Auction/Bidding – Seller sets a starting price and buyers compete by placing bids.
Key features:
* Simple user registration and profiles
* Verified user profiles with verification badges
* Post listings with photos, descriptions, price and location
* Categories and search
* Filters by price, location, condition and selling method
* Buy Now, Make Offer and Bidding functionality
* Buyer/seller messaging
* Favourites
* Notifications
* Ratings and reviews
* Transaction history
* Payment integration suitable for Zimbabwe
* Report listing/user functionality
* Admin dashboard for users, listings, verification, payments and reports
* Mobile-first responsive design
The platform must be extremely simple and easy to use, with minimal pages.
Main navigation should be:
Home | Search | Sell | Messages | Profile
Core journey:
List → Discover → Buy/Offer/Bid → Transact → Review
Monetisation should support:
1. Commission on completed sales
2. Paid/featured listings
3. Premium seller subscriptions
4. Listing or auction fees
5. Advertising and sponsored listings
The system should be built with scalability in mind so it can later expand from Zimbabwe into other African markets.
Please provide a quotation including:
* MVP development cost
* Development timeline
* Technology stack
* Hosting/API costs
* Payment integration costs
* Maintenance/support costs
* Examples of similar marketplace projects you have built
I am looking for a developer who can build a clean, professional MVP without unnecessary complexity.
