I have an existing Flutter app, Shape-ify, working on Android and in Google Play testing. I need a Flutter/iOS engineer with a Mac, Xcode, and physical iPhones to finish its iPhone build, verify its real-device behavior, and prepare a TestFlight release. This is a port of the existing app, not a Swift rewrite or a new backend.
The app lets a master create a group with a five-letter code. Participants join, share approximate locations, and receive a common three-star observing plan. At their observing window, each person points the rear camera at each star using direction and elevation guides, visually confirms it, and taps to record three measurements. The relay exchanges those observations; each phone calculates and displays interactive flat and globe result plots. A link opens that group’s results on the website.
Your work must include:
- Bring the supplied full Flutter project up on macOS. Finish its existing iOS project, signing, icon, launch sequence, portrait layout, permissions, and plugin integration. Keep the Shape-ify branding and dark interface.
- Validate the rear-camera guide, accelerometer, magnetometer, heading, and elevation on physical iPhones. Check sensor axis and camera direction rather than assuming Android and iOS readings have identical conventions. The existing measurements identify azimuth as magnetic; do not silently treat it as true north.
- Test camera and location permission denial, sensor or camera failure, offline recovery, small-screen layout, plot zoom/drag/rotation, and opening the group-specific web results.
- Produce a production-mode build. SHAPEIFY_DEMO=false; there must be no fake participants, simulated measurements, or automatic star captures. Use the existing relay at https://relay.roundhound.info. Do not add Firebase or another server.
- Run flutter analyze and flutter test, document any necessary fixes, and upload a signed TestFlight build under my Apple Developer team once invited. Supply the final full project, reproducible build instructions, tool versions, device-test findings, and any unresolved issues.
The expected archive command is:
flutter build ipa --release \
--dart-define=SHAPEIFY_DEMO=false \
--dart-define=SHAPEIFY_RELAY_URL=https://relay.roundhound.info
Use those same defines if archiving through Xcode. Flutter’s iOS release process produces an archive and IPA for App Store Connect/TestFlight. docs.flutter.dev
I propose info.roundhound.shapeify as the iOS bundle ID; agree the final ID with me before registering or signing it. The Android package name is shapeify.roundhound.info. Review App Store privacy disclosures against the actual location, tag, angle, and timestamp data exchanged by the app and relay.
