I’m transforming an ordinary elementary classroom entrance into a portal of wonder, and I need a life-size 3D model of a fantasy dungeon door and door frame to make it happen. The final piece will sit flush on top of the existing door skin, so the design should be mostly façade-depth—just enough surface relief to pop, without becoming heavy or bulky.
Style & mood
• Pure fantasy, rich in mystery and awe. Think weather-worn timber, iron bands, moss creeping through cracks, glowing arcane runes and otherworldly engravings with a stone door frame—yet nothing that references real-world religions and no "evil vibe" (after all, this is an elementary school).
Detail expectations
I’m after a highly intricate sculpt: raised grain in each plank, pitted metal studs, layered carvings, hidden symbols—small surprises kids can discover up close.
Printing realities
I’ll be running the parts on a Bambu X1C, so the model must be broken into interlocking sections that fit its build volume. Snap-fit tabs, dovetails or keyed edges are all fine; as long as a hobbyist can dry-fit before mounting them, we’re good. I need to disassemble the door at the end of each school year, so that needs to be taken into account. Alignment pegs or subtle registration marks are welcome. The model will be attached to the door and door frame using command strips.
Deliverables
– STL (or 3MF) files for every individual section, pre-oriented for FDM
– A single combined reference model to preview final assembly
– Simple exploded diagram or brief PDF showing piece order and recommended assembly sequence
– The door will be design sized precisely to a standard U.S. classroom door: 36 in × 80 in (outer edge tolerance ±2 mm)
– The door frame measurements are (I'm still measuring this).

The door overlay slots together cleanly, no visible gaps once printed at 0.2 mm layer height, and every detail remains printable without excessive supports.
