Job Title: Pharmaceutical Carton Packaging Artwork Designer | 5+ Years Experience | Regulatory-Compliant Design
Category: Graphic Design / Packaging & Label Design
Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmaceutical Packaging Artwork Designer to create print-ready, regulation-compliant carton artwork for our pharmaceutical products. This role demands precision, technical expertise, and strong design sensibility — our packaging directly reflects our brand quality and impacts end-user trust and safety.
We have a high volume of ongoing artwork requirements, making this an excellent opportunity for a designer who can commit meaningful time and deliver consistently.
About the Role:
You will design and prepare artwork for pharmaceutical cartons and mono-cartons, ensuring each piece is visually strong, brand-consistent, and fully compliant with applicable regulatory standards. This is a project-based engagement to start, with strong potential to grow into an ongoing, high-volume collaboration based on performance and fit.
Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of dedicated experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare packaging design, specifically carton/mono-carton artwork
Strong, relevant portfolio showcasing prior pharma carton design work
Solid understanding of pharmaceutical labeling and regulatory requirements (FDA / EU / CDSCO / region-specific, as applicable)
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
Strong command of print production fundamentals — dielines, bleed, CMYK/Pantone color accuracy
Exceptional attention to detail for dosage information, warnings, batch/lot numbers, barcodes, and regulatory copy
Ability to work from keyline drawings and finalized regulatory content with precision
Ability to handle high volume without compromising accuracy or quality
Strong communication skills and reliable, consistent turnaround
Scope of Work:
Design carton artwork on a per-product basis (starting engagement model)
Prepare production-ready, print-ready artwork files for each product
Incorporate agreed rounds of revisions per product
Ensure full compliance with applicable pharmaceutical packaging regulations
We have a substantial volume of artworks to be designed — this offers strong potential for sustained, regular work
Based on results and working rhythm, we're open to transitioning to an hourly or ongoing arrangement for future work
Deliverables (per product):
Final print-ready carton files (AI, PDF, EPS)
Fully editable source files
High-resolution mockup for internal approval
What We Provide (to ensure smooth, efficient collaboration):
Brand logo in vector format
Finalized, pre-approved regulatory content/text
Accurate keyline drawing from our packaging manufacturer
(Complete briefs significantly reduce turnaround time and revision cycles — we're committed to providing everything needed for a smooth process.)
Engagement Model: Starting on a per-product (fixed price) basis; open to discussing a transition to hourly or retainer-based work depending on how the collaboration progresses.
Timeline: Flexible — dependent on the freelancer's capacity and turnaround speed (per hour or per day). Given the high volume of artwork requirements, we're looking for someone who can commit consistent time and maintain a steady pace.
How to Apply:
Please share the following so we can evaluate your fit efficiently:
Portfolio/samples of prior pharmaceutical carton design work
Brief summary of relevant experience
Your per-carton pricing (and hourly/daily rate, for future reference)
Your estimated capacity — how many cartons you can typically design per day/week
We're looking for a reliable, high-capacity collaborator who brings both design excellence and regulatory precision to every project — starting with individual products, with strong potential for sustained, high-volume work.
