I have a raw data file in Excel and I want to turn it into a clear, defensible regression model. Your job is to take the sheet as-is, prepare it for analysis, run the appropriate regression in Excel (using formulas or the Data Analysis Toolpak), and present the results in a way that a non-statistician can understand.
Here’s what I need from you:
• Clean and structure the dataset so every variable is ready for analysis
• Select the correct regression type (simple, multiple, or log-linear depending on the variables) and justify that choice briefly in the workbook
• Provide the full output table (coefficients, standard errors, R-squared, p-values) directly in Excel
• Add a short written interpretation beneath the table that explains the significance and practical meaning of the findings
• Highlight any assumptions or diagnostic checks you perform (e.g., multicollinearity, residual plots) so I can see the model’s validity at a glance
I’m comfortable reviewing formulas, but I don’t want to chase references across multiple sheets—keep everything tidy in one workbook. If you rely on any add-ins beyond the standard Toolpak, note them clearly.
Once the file passes those checks and the interpretation is clear, the project is done.
