I’m looking for a native or near-native Estonian speaker to help review English → Estonian web content that has been initially translated using AI/machine translation.
The work is mainly human linguistic review and post-editing, not translation from scratch.
Responsibilities may include:
- Review Estonian text for grammar, spelling, punctuation and natural wording
- Check that the Estonian accurately reflects the English source
- Fix awkward or overly literal AI/MT translations
- Improve tone, readability and consistency
- Check terminology and repeated UI/web phrases
- Review buttons, headings, navigation labels, banners and short web copy
- Flag content that does not make sense in the Estonian context
- Perform final QA before content is considered ready
Some assignments may also involve web/CMS content review, so familiarity with CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Magnolia, WordPress, Drupal or similar systems is a plus.
This is potentially ongoing/project-based work. Workload may arrive in batches, so availability can vary from day to day.
Requirements
- Native or excellent Estonian
- Strong English comprehension
- Excellent Estonian grammar and writing ability
- Experience with proofreading, localization, MTPE, translation QA or web-content editing
- Comfortable reviewing AI-generated/machine-translated text
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to work within turnaround times
- Reliable communication
Nice to have:
- Experience with AEM or another CMS
- Website localization experience
- UI/UX copy review
- Technical/software background
- Experience with localization QA tools
