I need a single Excel workbook that lets me record daily hours for well over 50 employees and instantly turns that data into clean payroll figures. The sheet must:
• Capture clock-in / clock-out times (or total daily hours) on an easy-to-fill timesheet tab
• Roll those hours into weekly and monthly summaries per employee
• Calculate gross pay automatically from stored pay rates
• Apply tax-deduction formulas so I can see pre- and post-tax amounts at a glance
• Handle new hires or rate changes without rewriting formulas
A bit of automation would be ideal—dropdown employee lists, protected formulas, maybe a small VBA routine to copy last week’s roster or lock approved periods—but keep everything in standard .xlsx format so HR can edit it without extra add-ins.
Acceptance criteria
1. Workbook opens with no macro warnings other than any you deliberately add for automation.
2. I can add a new employee in one place and have them appear everywhere else.
3. Entering sample hours for three employees instantly returns correct gross pay and tax deductions that match the test figures I provide.
4. Summary tab prints neatly on A4/Letter.
Hand over the finished file plus any supporting notes on how to extend the tax tables or change pay periods.
