Electrical Engineering Scope for Taft Mini Golf
Project Overview
New 18-hole mini-golf facility located at 421 Kern Street, Taft, CA.
6,250 sq ft vacant lot.
Single 64 sq ft ADA bathroom, parking area, and trash enclosure located along the alley.

Electrical System Overview
New grid-tied 150A service drop from PG&E. There is no current power on the lot.
Electric system is a 120/240V, 1-phase, 3-wire setup.
Site loads include ADA path lighting with 90-minute battery backup, parking area lighting, and two outdoor receptacles in the maintenance area.
Bathroom loads include an interior light with 90-minute battery backup, exterior door light with 90-minute battery backup, mechanical exhaust fan, and a 2.5-gallon mini-tank water heater for hand washing.
The foundation for the ADA bathroom is gravel with earth anchors. Electrical system grounding may need to be done by grounding rods.
Scope of Services
Review provided preliminary site layouts, single-line diagrams, and fixture schedules and make any changes required.
Review and provide responses to the city for the following comments (see attached city comments), also make necessary plan changes:

(Compliance forms must be signed by responsible person) - Electrical Engineer to respond

Complete, sign and print on the plans the title-24 Energy Calculations
Complete, sign and print on the plans all non-residential energy compliance forms as applicable. 2025 CEnC (California Energy Code)
Provide signed and stamped calculations for site lighting and bathroom. As noted in the city comments.
Verify the preliminary load calculations of 5.2 kVA connected load and 5.6 kVA calculated demand load.
Perform official voltage drop and conduit fill calculations to finalize the 150A feeder wire size.
Confirm California Electrical Code (CEC) and Title 24 compliance for the specified exterior/interior lighting and sensors.
Provide detail and plan location for grounding rods if required.
Provide one of the following:
final CAD drafting with plans as PDF prints and original CAD for owners use,
OR
provide redlines allowing the owner to draft and finalize the electrical sheets.
Sign and stamp the final electrical plans for City of Taft permit approval.
Additional Services (Billed Separately / As Needed)
Plan Check Revisions: Respond to City of Taft plan check comments and provide a stamped second submittal if required.
Construction Support: Provide construction administration services at an agreed-upon hourly rate if an on-site inspector requires field changes or additional documentation.

First submittal to city (Note: The first submittal targeted a standalone/off the shelf solar generator setup. Based on the comments received we no longer think this a viable approach, as noted above the project will use a grid tied system.
City comments on first submittal (Note: see scope above for specific comment numbers that require electrical engineering assistance).
Exclusions
Engineer estimating is not required.
Bid support and review are not required.
Required Deliverables
Final stamped Electrical Engineering Plan Set and any required electrical calculations or memos/reports (Owner is not aware of any memos or reports required).
Digital version of all documents prepared in native format and PDF, if Electrical Engineer selected to provide drafting instead of readlines.
Timeline and Compensation
Draft Review: Target date for initial draft review is 2 weeks from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
Final Delivery: Target date for final stamped deliverables is 1 week after receiving all comments and instructions from the owner.
Base Fee: Agreed-upon lump sum fee for baseline engineering and stamping services.
Hourly Rate: Defined hourly rate for any "Additional Services" triggered during plan check or construction.
