Digital Communications & Social Media Specialist — Ongoing Execution Support

We are a Québec-based organization operating in the mining innovation ecosystem and are looking for a reliable, hands-on freelancer to support the weekly, and occasional day-to-day, execution of our digital communications.

This is primarily an execution role, not a strategy mandate. Our strategic communications direction, positioning, key messages and priorities are developed internally. We are looking for someone who can take clear direction and approved content and turn it into polished, timely digital communications with minimal supervision.

What you’ll do :

• Create, format, schedule and publish content across our social media channels, primarily LinkedIn and our Website;
• Adapt supplied content into platform-appropriate posts while preserving the intended message and institutional tone;
• Produce simple, professional visual assets using Canva or equivalent tools, based on our existing brand guidelines and templates;
• Update and maintain website content through our CMS;
• Support the digital promotion of programs, events, initiatives, calls for applications and organizational announcements;
• Prepare and manage content calendars based on priorities provided by our team
• Coordinate publication logistics, links, tagging, formatting and basic quality control;
• Monitor published content and flag comments, issues or opportunities requiring internal attention;
• Track basic digital performance metrics and provide concise reporting when required;
• Handle occasional short-turnaround requests when organizational priorities change.

What we’re looking for :

You are someone who gets things done. You are comfortable receiving an objective and source material, asking the few questions that genuinely matter, and then moving efficiently to execution.

You have strong attention to detail, good editorial judgment and the ability to work independently without turning every task into a meeting or a lengthy process. You know when to make a reasonable execution decision yourself and when something genuinely requires approval.

Very strong written French (mother-tongue preferred) is essential, including the ability to work naturally in a Québec institutional/business context. Professional English is also required.

Experience with LinkedIn, Meta/Facebook, Canva and common website CMS platforms is expected. Experience with organizations in B2B, technology, innovation, economic development, industry or institutional environments is an strong asset.

This is intended to begin as a freelance engagement with the potential for ongoing work if there is a strong fit. Workload may vary depending on campaigns, events and organizational priorities.
