Desktop Asset Tracking Application

I need a desktop-based asset management system with inventory tracking at its core. The program must handle both physical and digital assets from acquisition through retirement, and it has to work fast enough for day-to-day use on an office workstation without relying on a web browser.

The tracking module is non-negotiable: it must support barcode scanning for quick check-in/checkout, display quantity and status changes in real time, and let me extract detailed reports (CSV or PDF) covering movement history, current location, and any custom fields we decide to add later. If you prefer a particular tech stack—whether .NET, JavaFX, Electron, or Python with PyQt—let me know; I’m open as long as the final installer runs smoothly on Windows 10/11.

I’ll test by loading a mixed set of hardware, software licences, and media files, scanning barcodes, and confirming that inventory counts and reports update instantly. If that workflow runs without hiccups, the milestone is complete.
