The role consists of the management of subsidence claims, with a focus on the Mitigation or Repair phase of the claim. This will be to efficiently manage each phase proactively, to seek an effective and efficient outcome for the claim journey.
What will your day look like:
Communicating with customers, contractors and insurer clients over the telephone, email and inwriting• Production of technical reports, to meet SLA’s• Management of daily tasks• Managing third party companies to achieve vegetation removal and drain repairs to mitigate the cause of subsidence damage• Updating and creating building repair scopes using our in-house schedule of rates• Assessing contractor estimates• Negotiating cash settlements for repairs with policyholders• Managing panel contractors, controlling repair schedules and costs• Settling claims under delegated authority• Maintain a high level of personal competence• Adhere to Company systems and procedures• Updating the claim information relevant claims IT system• Actively promote the principle of Treating Customer Fairly

Knowledge and Abilities:

Previous subsidence/buildings insurance claims experience OR extensive trade experience (5+years) OR be a graduate building surveyor• Demonstrate great communication and organisation skills• Ability to demonstrate a high standard of customer service• Computer literate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills (minimum GCSE English grade C or equivalent)• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced target driven environment• Positive attitude and be a flexible, adaptive, self-motivated team player• Attention to detail and ability to assess and resolve problems and find solutions• Some knowledge and understanding of Subsidence in relation to insurance claims• Some knowledge or experience of managing technical building claims• Some knowledge and understanding of Claims Handling• Excellent telephone skills• Experience and Understanding of Customer Service• Excellent computer literacy• Articulation and good communication skills• The ability to organise own workload
