I’m planning a purpose-built website that will support both our residential care home and our home-care services in ways an off-the-shelf platform simply can’t. Everything must feel warm and inviting while still projecting a professional, fully compliant image to families, regulators, and funding partners.
Core build requirements
1. Integrated payment system – clients or their families must be able to pay invoices online by card. The flow has to be PCI-DSS compliant and simple enough for non-technical users.
2. Consultant booking feature – a calendar that lets prospective residents or their families reserve an in-person or virtual consultation, complete with automated confirmations and reminders.
3. Job application portal – candidates need a secure place to submit CVs, answer screening questions, and track application status so we can streamline recruitment.
User experience goals
• Professional, compliant, and intuitive across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Accessibility baked in (WCAG 2.1 AA).
• Scalable architecture so new services or locations can be added without a rebuild.
Visual direction
The interface should feel warm and reassuring—soft colour palette, generous white space, and photography that reflects real life inside the home—while avoiding anything dated or overly clinical.
Future-ready extras
Live chat with a simple bot hand-off and WhatsApp integration are on my roadmap, so a modular codebase (React, Vue, or similar) and a solid CMS back-end will help us slot those in later without heavy refactoring.
Acceptance criteria
• All three core features work end-to-end in staging and production.
• Page speed scores >90 on Lighthouse.
• Codebase handed over in a Git repository with clear setup instructions.
• Basic admin training recorded (screen capture is fine).
If you’re comfortable delivering this level of functionality and polish, let’s move forward; I’m ready to hit the ground running.
