I’m looking for a detail-oriented Excel specialist to turn my rough concept into a polished, easy-to-maintain client payment tracker designed specifically for small businesses. Each month I need to open a single workbook, drop in new figures, and instantly see who has paid, who is overdue, and how my revenue is trending.
Key requirements
• Structured tables to log each client’s payment history, with clear columns for invoice date, due date, amount, status, and running balance.
• Formulas (SUM, SUMIF, perhaps COUNTIF) that auto-calculate totals by month and flag discrepancies.
• Conditional formatting that highlights upcoming due dates and past-due invoices in distinct colors.
• Drop-down data validation to prevent typos when I mark a payment as “Pending,” “Part Paid,” or “Cleared.”
• A summary dashboard that rolls all data into easy-to-read monthly totals and percentage collected.
Nice to have (if time allows)
• A slicer or simple filter buttons for one-click views of paid vs. outstanding invoices.
• A printable statement layout I can send directly to clients.
All formulas must be transparent so I can adjust them later, and the file should remain fully compatible with Excel 2016+. When finished, hand over the unlocked workbook plus brief, step-by-step notes on how to add new months and archive old data.
