**Project Description:**
We need an experienced electrical engineer to design a **12V automotive trigger module** — a small module that senses a defined vehicle-side signal (e.g. ignition, accessory, reverse light, or door trigger) and outputs a clean trigger signal to activate a downstream device (relay, amplifier, lighting, camera, etc.).
Our previous engineer had to step away due to a disability-related retirement, so we're picking this back up and looking for someone who can take it from spec to finished, tested prototype.
**Scope of work:**
- Review requirements and confirm electrical spec with us before starting
- Schematic design: trigger sensing, output driver, reverse polarity/transient/ESD protection
- PCB layout in Altium, KiCad, or Eagle (native project files required as deliverables)
- Support prototype bring-up and bench testing
- Deliver full documentation: schematics, Gerbers, BOM, pick-and-place file, test notes
**Requirements:**
- Proven experience with automotive 12V circuit design
- Strong proficiency in Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle (tell us which)
- Understanding of automotive transient protection (load dump, reverse polarity, ESD)
- Experience carrying a design from schematic through working prototype
- Clear, regular communication (weekly updates minimum)
