I am building a focused construction project-management web app whose top priority is accurate planning and scheduling. The core workflow will let me create projects, break them into tasks, and set clear task-to-task dependencies so the entire timeline adjusts automatically when something moves.
Beyond the scheduling engine, I also need a lightweight equipment-tracking module. It should let me assign cranes, loaders, generators, or any other site equipment to individual tasks, flag date conflicts, and produce a daily allocation report. No labour or material tracking is required at this stage, so the interface can stay streamlined around equipment only.
Key expectations
• Task-dependency scheduler that supports critical-path logic and instantly recalculates dates.
• Visual timelines (Gantt or calendar views are welcome as long as dependencies drive them).
• Equipment database with availability status, conflict alerts, and simple usage analytics.
• Clean, responsive UI built with a modern stack (React + Node or a comparable framework).
• REST or GraphQL API so future mobile apps can tap the same data.
Acceptance criteria
1. I can build a project, add tasks, link their dependencies, and watch the schedule update in real time.
2. Attempting to double-book a piece of equipment prompts an immediate warning.
3. A single click exports the full schedule (tasks + assigned equipment) to PDF or Excel.
4. Unit and basic integration tests cover critical logic.
