We are Jarvismetalroofing.com, a roofing company seeking a skilled and reliable freelance professional to take complete ownership of our web presence. We need a partner who can not only design and build a professional, high-performing website but also manage our servers and technical infrastructure on an ongoing basis.
Our goal is to launch a website that serves as the central hub for our business, and we require a single, accountable point of contact for all technical aspects, from initial design to long-term maintenance. This role requires both creative design skills and robust technical expertise.
Core Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the full lifecycle of our website, including:
Design & Development: Creating a modern, responsive, and user-friendly company website that reflects our brand's professionalism and quality.
Hosting & Server Setup: Recommending and configuring the optimal hosting solution for our needs. This includes setting up the server environment, managing directory permissions, and ensuring a secure and stable foundation.
Domain & DNS Management: Connecting our existing domain, configuring DNS records, and managing SSL certificates to ensure a secure connection for our visitors.
Deployment & Launch: Handling the complete deployment of the website, moving it from a staging environment to our live domain, and testing all functionalities across desktop and mobile devices.
Ongoing Management: Providing continuous server management, including performance monitoring, security updates, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining optimal uptime.
Post-Launch Handoff: Delivering a simple, clear handoff so our team can manage basic content updates internally.
Requirements
To ensure we find the right long-term partner, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
Proven Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in website design, development, and server management.
Verifiable Track Record: Applicants must provide proof of jobs already completed or currently managing (this can include links to a portfolio, case studies, or references from previous clients).
Core Technical Skills:
Proven experience in managing server environments (e.g., FTP/SFTP, Cloudflare, DNS).
Strong knowledge of website security best practices.
Proficiency in a recommended tech stack (e.g., WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar).
Full Ownership & Independence: Ability to operate with minimal supervision, proactively resolving technical issues and communicating clearly throughout the project.
