My goal is to get our small-to-mid-size office network running smoothly, securely, and with room to scale. The work is purely technical support focused on full network setup and ongoing maintenance.

Scope of the job
The environment includes routers, switches, several wireless access points, and a mixed fleet of laptops, VoIP phones, and IoT devices. I need someone to:

• Plan and configure the wired backbone (VLANs, trunking, QoS)
• Optimise WiFi coverage, assign channels, and fine-tune roaming settings
• Harden the entire network with firewall rules, WPA3, and up-to-date firmware

Most of the hardware is already on-site and powered up; it just isn’t talking to each other reliably. You’ll start with a quick audit, document the current layout, propose any tweaks or firmware upgrades, then implement the agreed changes. Clear, step-by-step documentation should be delivered so my in-house team can handle basic moves, adds, and changes after you’re done.

Acceptance criteria
1. All switches, routers, and access points reachable via secure management interface
2. Wired and wireless clients obtain stable connectivity and expected throughput
3. Security scan shows no open management ports externally and strong WiFi encryption enabled
4. Final network diagram and change log supplied in editable format (Visio, Draw.io, or similar)

Remote configuration is fine as long as we can screen-share; onsite work may be arranged if necessary. If you’re fluent with Cisco IOS or Ubiquiti UniFi, mention it—those are the primary platforms in play.
