About Volta
Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform – from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.
About The Role
As Volta's Compliance Officer, you'll help ensure our day-to-day operations align with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You'll work closely with the Compliance Manager and cross-functional teams to monitor compliance activity, support audits, and help embed a strong compliance culture across the business.
This role is a great fit for someone who's detail-oriented, comfortable working across regulatory frameworks, and looking to grow their compliance career within a global organization.
What You Will Be Doing
Monitor day-to-day business activities and transactions to identify potential compliance issues or deviations from policy
Support the implementation and rollout of compliance policies, procedures, and training across the organization
Conduct or support internal compliance reviews and audits, documenting findings and tracking remediation
Help maintain compliance registers, trackers, and documentation to support regulatory reporting and audits
Assist with monitoring regulatory changes relevant to Volta's business and help assess their impact
Support investigations into potential compliance issues, working with relevant stakeholders to resolve them
Deliver or support training sessions to help employees understand their compliance obligations
Respond to internal queries on compliance policies and procedures in a clear and timely manner
Prepare regular compliance reports and metrics for review by the Compliance Manager and leadership
What You Bring
2–4 years of experience in a compliance, risk, audit, or regulatory role, ideally within financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry
Solid understanding of compliance principles, regulatory frameworks, and internal control processes
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple compliance tasks and deadlines
Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain compliance requirements clearly to non-specialists
Strong organizational skills and comfort working with compliance tracking tools and systems
A proactive, ethical approach, with sound judgment when escalating potential issues
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
Relevant compliance certification (e.g., ICA) is a plus but not required
REQ-155
