I’m developing a line of modern sofas and need complete CAD + CAM packages that can go straight to my CNC nesting machine. Different models like key features—recliners, hidden storage compartments, and modular sections that can be rearranged—so the drawings must anticipate those mechanisms and clearances from the outset.
Because upholstery may shift from leather to fabric or even synthetic coverings depending on market demand, frame dimensions and fastening points should stay material–agnostic. If a small tweak is needed to accommodate a thicker fabric wrap, I want to be able to adjust a parameter rather than redraw the part.
Please prepare each sofa concept as a production-ready set that covers:
• 3D master model (SolidWorks, Inventor, or comparable STEP)
• Fully dimensioned 2D manufacturing drawings (DWG/DXF)
• Optimised nesting layouts for standard sheet sizes used by CNC routers
• Hardware and mechanism call-outs for the recliner actions and storage lids
• Bill of materials with cut lists and edging specs
• Brief assembly sequence or exploded view for my shop floor team
Files must open without issue on common CAM suites such as WoodWOP or Alphacam; if you rely on plug-ins, flag them early. I’ll review one prototype frame first, then green-light the rest of the range once we’re sure tolerances and nesting efficiency hit target. Collaboration will be iterative, so factor in at least one revision cycle before we lock tooling paths.
