WordPress / Elementor Freelancer Needed to Relaunch Existing Cleanup Leipzig Website

We are looking for an experienced WordPress freelancer to complete, optimize, and technically restructure our existing nonprofit environmental website for CLEANUP Leipzig in Germany.

The website currently exists within our previous Cleanup Sachsen setup. Our goal is to operate CLEANUP Leipzig again as a standalone website under:

www.cleanupleipzig.de

The existing website, content, design elements, and technical setup should be reviewed and reused wherever practical.

Current technical setup

The website currently uses:

- WordPress
- OceanWP Theme
- Elementor Page Builder

We want to keep WordPress, OceanWP, and Elementor as the main technical setup.

This is not a completely new website development project. The main objective is to review the existing installation, separate/restructure the Cleanup Leipzig website, improve it, and make it fully functional as an independent website.

Main tasks

The project should include:

- Review the existing WordPress installation and website structure
- Set up www.cleanupleipzig.de as the standalone website for CLEANUP Leipzig
- Review the existing Cleanup Leipzig / Cleanup Sachsen structure and identify what needs to be separated, migrated, redirected, or removed
- Preserve and reuse existing Cleanup Leipzig content wherever possible
- Fix existing layout and functionality issues
- Optimize OceanWP and Elementor configuration
- Improve header, footer, menus, navigation, buttons, and page structure
- Create a clear and user-friendly navigation structure
- Ensure responsive design for desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Check and fix forms, links, buttons, and interactive elements
- Improve website speed and overall performance
- Review installed plugins and identify unnecessary, outdated, or conflicting plugins
- Basic SEO optimization
- Check page titles, metadata, URLs, internal links, and basic search-engine structure
- Improve accessibility
- Check GDPR/privacy and cookie functionality for Germany
- Basic WordPress security and update check
- Make the website easy for our volunteer team to maintain using Elementor
- Review redirects and domain settings so that existing relevant links continue to work wherever possible

Website purpose and design

CLEANUP Leipzig is a nonprofit environmental and volunteer initiative organizing community cleanup activities in Leipzig.

The website should therefore have a:

- clean
- modern
- friendly
- accessible
- environmental
- community-oriented

appearance.

Visitors should quickly understand:

- Who CLEANUP Leipzig is
- How they can participate
- Upcoming and previous cleanup activities
- How organizations, schools, companies, and volunteers can cooperate with us
- How to contact us
- How to register or organize a cleanup activity

The website should not look overly corporate. It should communicate community, volunteering, environmental responsibility, and active participation.

Important requirements

Please review the existing website and WordPress installation before making major changes.

Do not install:

- paid plugins
- paid Elementor extensions
- subscriptions
- external services
- premium themes

without our prior approval.

Existing functionality and content should be retained wherever technically reasonable.

The final website must be:

- fast
- responsive
- reliable
- GDPR-aware
- accessible
- easy to maintain
- fully functional

Our team should be able to update pages and content ourselves using Elementor after completion.
