Children’s Picture Book Illustrator

I’m finishing up a picture book for young readers aged 4 – 7 and now need the right illustrator to make the story sparkle. The manuscript is complete; what I’m missing is a cohesive visual world that will keep early readers turning the pages.

I haven’t locked in a single style yet—realistic detail, playful cartoon lines, or a gentle watercolor look could all work—so feel free to suggest what you think suits the age group and narrative best. What matters most is vivid character expression, clear storytelling from page to page, and a colour palette that feels warm and inviting for little hands.

Deliverables I’m expecting:
• Full-page and spot illustrations for every spread, supplied in high-resolution CMYK (print) and RGB (digital)
• Front cover, back cover and spine artwork that ties in seamlessly with the interior pages
• Editable source files (AI, PSD or layered Procreate) plus flattened print-ready PDFs
• Two revision rounds on each illustration to make sure we capture the right tone before final approval

Once the artwork is complete I’ll handle layout and text placement, but close collaboration during sketch and colour stages is essential so everything aligns perfectly with the story beats.
