My portable camping shelter is already fully modelled in CAD; the next step is turning those files into verified, market-ready hardware. I’m searching for a business partner with solid manufacturing expertise, specifically prototype development. Your role will concentrate on moving the design through iterative builds, tests and refinements so we can prove performance and prepare for volume production.
To make sure we zero-in on the right fit, here are the core capabilities I need you to drive:
• Material testing and selection – advising on lightweight, weather-resistant fabrics and structural components, then sourcing samples to enhance the structure.
• Collaboration with a mechanical/structural engineer – reviewing and refining the design to ensure its feasibility and durability.
• Functional testing and validation – building and stress-testing working prototypes to confirm pack size, set-up time, wind/rain resistance and overall durability.
Once we finalise an NDA, I’ll share the full CAD package, bill of materials and preliminary test criteria. From there we can map out prototype milestones, cost estimates and a manufacturing roadmap together. If you’ve shepherded outdoor or consumer hard-goods through early builds before, let me know how you tackled material choices, what test rigs or methods you prefer, and how you typically scale from prototype to pilot run.
I’m in this for the long haul and want a partner who is too. Tell me about your most relevant projects and how you’d help bring this shelter from screen to campsite.
