Build Scalable News + Marketplace Platform | React, Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL, AWS

Project Overview

I am looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer / Development Team to build a scalable digital platform for The Great India News.

This is NOT a simple news website.

The platform will combine:

- News publishing platform
- Advanced Newsroom/Admin CMS
- Reporter → Editor → Approval → Publishing workflow
- RSS feed management
- SEO and AI-search optimization
- Advertisement and monetization management
- Analytics
- Personalized homepage
- User accounts and personalization
- Marketplace
- Seller/Vendor portal
- Product enquiry system
- Jobs portal
- Events Near You
- Gemini AI SEO assistant
- Multiple third-party API integrations

IMPORTANT — Architecture & Ownership

I am specifically looking for a developer/team who can build this as a maintainable, documented and scalable system, not a quick prototype.

The system must be designed so that another competent development team can take over the project in the future without rebuilding it from scratch.

I do NOT want vendor lock-in.

Reliability Requirements

External APIs must NOT become single points of failure.

For example:

- If Gemini is unavailable, article publishing must continue.
- If a weather API fails, the website must continue operating.
- If an RSS source fails, the rest of the system must continue operating.
- External API failures should have proper timeout, retry, logging and fallback handling.
- Background operations such as RSS fetching and AI processing should use queues/background jobs rather than blocking normal website requests.

Security

The system must include:

- Role-based access control
- Secure authentication
- Proper authorization
- API rate limiting
- Input validation
- Secure server-side API credentials
- Audit logs for important administrative actions
- Protection against common web vulnerabilities
- Secure file upload handling
- Proper database permissions
- Backup and recovery strategy

API keys and sensitive credentials must NEVER be exposed in the React frontend.

Ownership & Handover

This is extremely important.

I must own/control:

- Source code
- Git repository
- Database
- Cloud infrastructure
- Domain
- Cloudflare account
- Third-party API accounts
- Deployment configuration
- Documentation

The developer will work using accounts/infrastructure controlled by me.

I should be able to remove one development team and give access to another team without losing control of the application.

Development Approach

I prefer a modular monolith architecture initially, rather than unnecessarily complicated microservices.

The codebase should be modular and clean enough that individual services can be separated later if the system genuinely requires it.
