# Build a Higgsfield AI Alternative – AI Image & Video Generation Platform (Ollama, OpenRouter, Multi-API Integration)

**Project Type:** Full-Stack Development / Artificial Intelligence / Generative AI

**Skills Required:** Python, React.js, Next.js, Node.js, FastAPI, Generative AI, Ollama, ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion, API Integration, AI Video Generation

## Project Overview

I am looking for an experienced AI developer or development team to build a fully functional, self-hosted AI image and video generation platform inspired by **Higgsfield AI (https://higgsfield.ai/)**.

The goal is to develop a powerful, modern, user-friendly platform that provides similar creative capabilities to Higgsfield while allowing me to use **local AI models, free APIs, paid APIs, and third-party AI providers**.

I do not want to be restricted to a single AI provider, subscription service, or generation model.

The platform must have a modular architecture so that I can easily add, remove, switch, and configure AI models and providers without rebuilding the application.

**Important:** I am not asking for a basic AI image generator or a simple API wrapper. I want a complete AI creative studio with a polished interface, advanced generation controls, reusable workflows, media management, and multi-provider integration.

## 1. AI Image Generation Features

The platform should support:

- Text-to-image generation
- Image-to-image generation
- Image editing using AI prompts
- Inpainting and outpainting
- Background removal and replacement
- AI image upscaling and enhancement
- Reference image uploads
- Consistent characters and subjects
- Multiple image generation per request
- Image style presets and templates
- Aspect ratio and resolution selection
- Negative prompts, seeds, and advanced model settings
- Image history, previews, and downloads
- Side-by-side comparison of generated images

## 2. AI Video Generation Features

The platform should include advanced video generation capabilities similar to those offered by Higgsfield.

Required functionality:

- Text-to-video generation
- Image-to-video generation
- First-frame and last-frame video generation
- Reference-based video generation
- Video-to-video transformations
- AI camera movement and cinematic effects
- Motion control and camera movement presets
- Video style and cinematic presets
- Multi-shot video generation and scene creation
- Video extension and enhancement
- Video resolution, duration, and aspect ratio controls
- Audio generation and lip-sync integration where supported
- Video generation history and downloads

Advanced functionality should be implemented according to the capabilities of the selected AI models and providers.

## 3. Local AI Models and Ollama Integration

One of my highest priorities is supporting locally hosted AI models to minimise ongoing API expenses.

The platform should integrate with:

- Ollama for compatible local AI models
- ComfyUI for advanced image and video generation workflows
- Stable Diffusion and SDXL
- FLUX image generation models
- Wan AI video models
- Other compatible open-source image and video generation models

The system should support local GPU acceleration where available.

I also want the ability to configure different local model endpoints, manage models, and switch between supported models from the dashboard.

## 4. Third-Party API Integrations

The system must support multiple AI generation providers, including free and paid APIs.

Potential providers include:

- OpenRouter
- MiniMax / Hailuo AI
- Google Gemini / Imagen / Veo
- OpenAI image and video APIs
- Kling AI
- Runway
- Replicate
- fal.ai
- Hugging Face
- Stability AI
- Alibaba Wan
- Other compatible providers

Not every provider needs to be integrated initially, but the underlying architecture must allow additional integrations without major development changes.

**API Management Requirements:**

- Add and manage multiple API keys securely
- Select the AI provider and model before generation
- Display available model capabilities
- Display estimated API costs where available
- Track API usage and generation expenses
- Switch between free, local, and paid providers
- Configure fallback models when a provider fails
- Support API rate limits and generation queues
- Support asynchronous jobs, polling, and webhooks

I would prefer a system that prioritises local or lower-cost providers when appropriate, with the option to manually select premium models.

## 5. User Interface and Dashboard

The platform must feature a clean, modern, responsive interface inspired by the usability and creative workflow of Higgsfield, but with its own original design.

The dashboard should include:

- Dedicated AI Image Studio
- Dedicated AI Video Studio
- Model and provider selection
- Prompt input and enhancement tools
- Advanced generation settings
- Reference image and video uploads
- Real-time job status and progress updates
- Generation history
- Media gallery and project folders
- Preview and download functionality
- API configuration dashboard
- Model management dashboard
- API usage and estimated cost reporting

A visual workflow editor similar to ComfyUI would be a major advantage.

## 6. Technical Requirements

I am open to technology recommendations, but my preferred stack includes:

**Frontend:**
- Next.js / React
- Tailwind CSS
- Modern responsive UI

**Backend:**
- Python / FastAPI or Node.js
- REST API architecture
- Background job processing and queues
- WebSocket or equivalent real-time progress updates

**AI Infrastructure:**
- Ollama
- ComfyUI
- PyTorch
- Local GPU inference
- Third-party AI APIs

**Storage and Deployment:**
- PostgreSQL or another suitable database
- Local or S3-compatible media storage
- Docker / Docker Compose
- Self-hosted deployment on Windows or Linux where technically feasible

The system must be scalable, maintainable, and designed to accommodate future AI models.

## 7. Additional Requirements

- Full source code ownership and delivery
- Clean, documented, maintainable code
- No unnecessary vendor lock-in
- Secure API key storage
- Proper error handling and logging
- Installation and deployment documentation
- Ability to add new models and providers
- Optimisation for generation speed and operating costs
- Complete testing of implemented features
- Demonstration of working image and video generation

## 8. Expected Deliverables

1. Fully functional web application
2. AI image and video generation modules
3. Working local model integrations
4. Working cloud API integrations
5. Admin and configuration dashboard
6. Media library and generation history
7. Complete source code
8. Docker deployment configuration
9. Installation and technical documentation
10. Final demonstration and testing

I am open to phased development, starting with a working MVP and expanding to advanced cinematic tools and workflows.

## 9. What I Expect From Applicants

Please include the following information in your proposal:

1. Have you previously developed an AI image or video generation platform? Please provide examples.
2. Have you worked with Ollama, ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion, FLUX, or Wan?
3. Have you integrated OpenRouter, MiniMax, or other AI generation APIs?
4. What technology stack would you recommend for this project?
5. How would you design the system to switch between local models and third-party APIs?
6. Which features would you include in the initial MVP?
7. What would your estimated development cost and timeline be?
8. Would the system support future model integrations without major code changes?
9. Can you deliver full source code and deployment documentation?

**Please do not submit generic or automatically generated proposals.**

I am specifically looking for developers who understand generative AI infrastructure, asynchronous video generation, GPU-based inference, API orchestration, and modern web application development.

## Project Goal

My ultimate objective is to create a **powerful, cost-efficient, self-hosted alternative to Higgsfield AI** where I have full control over the application, AI models, generation workflows, API providers, and ongoing costs.

The solution should combine the flexibility of open-source AI with the convenience and quality of commercial AI generation services.

I am looking for a developer or team capable of building a long-term, expandable platform rather than a limited proof of concept.
