Beta Edit My Sci-Fi Novel

I have just wrapped the first draft of a science-fiction novel and I’m ready for a fresh set of eyes. The draft still has the raw energy of an initial pass, so I’m looking for a beta read that combines light proofreading with broader reader-level insight.
Your first task is to catch the obvious—grammar slips, typos, and awkward sentences—using Track Changes so I can follow every tweak. Just as important, I’d like honest notes on how the plot flows, whether the characters feel consistent and compelling, and any moments where the story drags or confuses. Think of it as wearing two hats: proofreader and engaged sci-fi fan.
The manuscript sits at roughly 90 k words in a standard Word document. I’ll provide it along with a quick synopsis so you know the intended beats before diving in. Please return:
• The marked-up Word file with all corrections and inline comments
• A brief editorial letter (2-3 pages) summarising plot, character, and overall readability observations, plus any big-picture suggestions
I’m open to follow-up questions while you work, and a short Zoom or chat debrief after delivery would be appreciated if you feel extra context is helpful.
Ideal turnaround is three weeks, but if you need a bit longer let me know upfront. Experience with speculative fiction is a plus, yet an eye for clean prose and clear storytelling matters most.
If that scope matches your skill set, I’m eager to hear how you’d approach giving this first draft the polish—and the narrative punch—it needs before I head into the next revision round.
