This is a remote position.
RCM Staff BPO is hiring a full-time Behavioral Health Biller to support a behavioral health practice based in Texas.The biller handles the account's day-to-day revenue cycle in AdvancedMD, from charge entry and claim submission through denial work, appeals, payment posting, and A/R follow-up. This role requires hands-on behavioral health billing experience, strong attention to detail, consistent follow-up, and experience working with U.S. health insurance plans.
Key Responsibilities
Enter charges and submit clean claims in AdvancedMD
Work clearinghouse rejections and correct claims for resubmission
Review and resolve denials, including preparing and submitting appeals
Follow up on aged payer A/R and document every account touch
Post insurance and patient payments, including ERA and EOB reconciliation
Verify eligibility and benefits for behavioral health services when needed
Track authorizations and session limits so claims are not denied for exhausted units
Identify recurring denial patterns and report them to the account lead
Maintain accurate notes, reference numbers, and payer call logs
Protect patient information and follow HIPAA requirements
Qualifications
At least 2 years of experience with U.S. healthcare insurance billing
Hands-on denial management and A/R follow-up experience
Familiarity with commercial insurance and government health plans
Experience using payer portals and insurance websites
Strong written and spoken English
Excellent attention to detail and follow-up skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple patient accounts
Reliable internet connection and a suitable remote workspace
Preferred Qualifications
Experience billing for behavioral health, mental health, or substance use practices
Experience using AdvancedMD
Familiarity with Texas commercial and Medicaid plans
Understanding of behavioral health CPT codes, time-based session billing, and authorization tracking
Schedule

Must be available during U.S. Central Time business hours
Final schedule will be determined based on practice needs
