Backend Engineer for Food Intelligence Platform

Looking for a backend engineer to continue development on an existing food intelligence platform.

A substantial portion of the backend has already been built, tested, and deployed. The core product intelligence, scoring, APIs, database architecture, ingestion foundation, security, and staging environment are already in place.

We now need someone who can quickly understand the existing codebase, continue from where the previous engineer stopped, and complete the remaining backend work without unnecessarily rebuilding what already exists.

The work will mainly involve:

* completing and hardening the existing backend
* finalizing real-data ingestion and pipeline integration
* expanding external data and retail integrations
* strengthening search, caching, queues, replay, and scalability
* completing remaining personalization and recommendation infrastructure
* supporting health-data and wearable integrations
* continuing enterprise and authorized-access foundations
* preparing the platform for broader production use

I’m looking for someone who is comfortable inheriting an existing architecture, reviewing what has already been completed, identifying gaps, and proposing a practical plan to finish the remaining work efficiently.

Strong experience with Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, APIs, data-intensive backends, queues/workers, integrations, and production deployment is preferred.
