Backend Developer for Similarity Algorithm -- 2

We are building a proprietary weighted similarity engine for a tech startup. We have a fully written, contractor-ready technical specification and need an experienced backend developer to build it.

The scope involves:

A multi-channel weighted similarity algorithm comparing two user profiles and returning a structured match score
A two-stage architecture (a compatibility gate followed by a ranking layer)
A read-only query interface to an external data graph we control
A REST API endpoint returning structured JSON output
A full unit test suite against seven defined test cases
Clean documentation and a README
Performance target: under 50ms per response

You are building to a completed specification — not designing the system. Weights are injected as configuration at runtime, not hard-coded.

Requirements:

Based in Australia — non-negotiable
Demonstrated experience with similarity, scoring, or recommendation algorithms
Strong Python or equivalent backend experience
Must be willing to sign an NDA and IP assignment agreement before receiving the full specification
